Enter Sunday night. At B.B. Kings in midtown the Writers Guild celebrated the annual awards ceremony with a long list of illustrious names ranging from Judd Apatow to the writers of Modern Family to writers I’ve never heard of or watched their work but people who have honed their craft and danced to their introvert’s inner beat when they really felt like playing outside. As I chatted with the head writer of The Colbert Report and an Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker and yes, the head writer for Sesame Street (how cool is that? Exclamation point!) there was something downright refreshing about not only hearing about their own creative process and interesting stories, but sharing mine as well.
