My TV Debut…will be dubbed in Italian?!

IMG_3489So excited!

Okay, I get a lot of e-mails every day. I’m talkin’ a lot a lot a lot. A few hundred. Whether it’s friends (which let me tell ya, are completely refreshing), or publicists pitching me stories or following up on a go-live date (which quite honestly, I often don’t know when my work is going to be published. Three cheers for Google alerts!), junk mail or fan mail (no, I’m not getting an ego here, I don’t know what other category to put it in when I get random e-mails from people re: my articles), sometimes it’s hard sifting through them all. This is why, my friend, it’s so important to have a relevant subject line.

Such was the case last Wednesday. A producer from SKY tg 24 Italia was working on a special about American unemployment, how to get a job, how recruiters sort through resumes, how people can keep their spirits up.

I should know! I’m a member of the 405 Club. This means I was…wait for it…downsized! Actually, it turned out to be a huge blessing so I could leave the day job in HR and pursue my passion of writing and now adding career consulting to the mix (so much fun!)

Anyway, the studio was super fly and it was incredibly fun being on camera being able to share some empowering tips. Want to know what was also cool? Seeing how the producer worked thinking hmmmm, my writing skills are technically journalism skills that are transferrable to….television!

Kinda psyched about my outfit, too. And yes, I spent more time figuring out what to wear than what to say! :D I wasn’t even nervous but I suppose that’s the beauty about being filmed for an international station. After all, there will be a voiceover for my voice speaking Italian!
