New Year, New You, New Everything!

Welcome to 2012! Of course, as I blog midway through the month, I had every intention of blogging much earlier. Alas…lots to report! As my site gets revamped, here’s a quick snapshot:

• I heart being quoted to share my career insight. In this AOL Jobs piece I talk about soft skills, the importance of the lunch interview and oh yes, social skills (hey, is there an echo in here?). If you have technical expertise and someone else does, too, what will really make you sparkle and stand out is Y*O*U! Your personality, your ability to small talk and simply get along with others. Play nicely in that sandbox, ‘k?
• GO YANKEES! I launched a new blog, Yankee Diamonds for women who love baseball and our bling. Be sure to check it out!
• On New Year’s Eve some people (translation: tourists) hang out at Times Square; others go to house parties. Yours truly traipsed to Beauty & Essex to interview Real Housewife, Kim Zolciak (see pic).
• On that note, Jorge Posada is retiring. Bummed about that but saw it coming and would much rather see him retire than play for a lackluster team. Sadly though the core four is down to two. Hip hip Jorge!
